Sorry for the hokey title guys, but I just wanted to talk about match writing. I know that we all have personal lives with jobs, so match-writing and promo writing comes whenever you have the chance to get on the computer/laptop. With promos, you obviously have to cover certain aspects of what you're getting over, etc. When it comes to match writing, you can recap the match instead of writing a full-on epic. Just some tips from a guy who has recapped matches in the past.
Squash matches
We always have squash matches on the TV cards, and these are the easiest to recap. You can the introductions, etc and then come match time, a squash match is pretty much a paragraph. Just cover the major moves that your character wants to do, and any other spots that you want included. Just a quick basic recap. Throw in a few lines from Brooks/LBM in the beginning, one in the middle if you're feeling fancy, and one at the end. Example:
NOTE: These recaps come from EWB a site dedicated to EWR, and they have a section for posting EWR results. These matches usually have commentary, and I C/P'ed these from a diary that is pretty good at recapping.
Main Card Wrestler vs Main Card Wrestler
A match like this could be three-to-four paragraphs, or just one-or-two with more detail. It's all about what writing preference that you have. I'm sure that your opponent will have no problem with the match being recapped, so there shouldn't be a problem. Here's a quick example:
11. ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude versus Sting
The crowd were on their foot all through this back and forth contest between two of WCW’s best. With both men coming off wins in their Fall Brawl matches they were both eager to continue that run of form and both men threw themselves headlong into the task. Safe in the knowledge that Ricky Steamboat had been ejected from the building for his attack earlier in the night Rick Rude didn’t have to look over his shoulder and was able to focus fully on The Stinger. A frantic few opening exchanges led to a Sting dive off the top and a brawl around ringside where Rude was able to take control. Back in Rude slowed the pace as he is known to do and worked on Sting’s neck, getting close two counts with a swinging neckbreaker and a piledriver, but The Stinger, no stranger to intense matches summoned the intestinal fortitude to battle back and had Rude rocking with ten punches and a Stinger Splash. Rude countered a Scorpion Deathdrop only for Sting to counter the Rude Awakening and nail the US Champ with a big DDT. Sting let out a big “OOOOOOOOOOOOOW!” as the momentum swung back towards The Stinger but that momentum was brought to a crashing halt by the appearance of the towering Sid Vicious, who nailed Sting with a big boot to the face! The referee called for the bell immediately but that didn’t stop Sid, directed by Colonel Robert Parker, who hooked Sting and drove him into the mat with a powerbomb.

Commentary:
Having LBM/Brooks as the commentators means you two announcers that can play off each-other well. If you want a specific part of the match commentary put in, you can always insert them as a go-between for paragraphs, etc. Something at the beginning, and a bit near the end is always good.
If you can't write your match because of something coming up, always contact the guy your matched with and I'm sure that they would be willing to write it. If there's a situation in-which neither of you guys can't write the match, just contact one of the staff members and we will take care of the match. Any other questions, you can always ask here or drop me a line.

2. Stan ‘The Lariat’ Hansen versus Maxx Payne
Coming back from an injury at the hands of a four hundred pound beast such as Vader is tough enough, finding yourself matched up against a three hundred and fifty pound wrestler like Maxx Payne on your return makes the job even tougher. Stan ‘The Lariat’ Hansen though was up the challenge. After Payne had control in the first few minutes of the match Hansen worked off the ring rust and took control, chopping Payne into next week and slamming him down to the mat repeatedly. Hansen wasn’t one to wait about in this match and he finished the match after seven minutes with a crushing Lariat to get the pinfall win.
