Battle For Respect -VS-
NIN Horror likely left the table match at Supershow 4 thinking he had seen the last of Heavy Metal Snail. Winning the match, albeit in very controversial circumstances, and getting his long-coveted shot at the Legacy World Wrestling Championship, NIN was ready to move on... but Snail wasn't. After being cheated out of the win in the tables match, Snail returned the favor, costing NIN his shot at the championship. This has ignited a rarely-seen fury in Horror, who now seems to realize that if he wants to truly be done with Snail, he'll have to step into the ring with the rookie sensation one more time. Snail meanwhile will be feeling the pressure of expectation as he strives to prove he can hang with the best in the company. With the loser being forced to show respect to the winner, can NIN remove the thorn in his side or will Snail prove himself to be Legacy's next big star?~///~
After a slick video package to recall the long Snail/NIN rivalry the Fifth Supershow returns ringside, where Erik Knights and a referee are standing by in the squared circle.
Erick Knights: Ladies and gentlemen the following contest is scheduled for one fall and will be one fall to a finish, for the loser must pay his respects to the winner! The fans pop for the high stakes of this contest before “The Trooper” by Iron Maiden rips up the sound system, with the lights going wild as if this were a heavy metal show. The young rookie that embodies the spirit of Legacy Wrestling bursts out through the curtains like a man on fire, matching and feeding off of the high energy of the crowd. The Legacy Legion cheers and the first rows of seats push into the rails for a high-five as Snail makes his way down to the ring.
Erick Knights: Introducing first, coming to us from Hartford, Connecticut and weighing in tonight at 213 pounds, he is The Young Lion of Legacy, he is The Guardian of Metal… he is the HEAVY METAL SssnnaaaaAAAIIILLL!!Snail power climbs up the steps and up the corner to stand on the middle rope, pumping a fist in the air and head-banging to rally the fans even harder. He hops down into the ring and takes his place in the corner as his music starts fading out, looking intense as he does some last minute warming up…
All of the lights in the arena flash on, doing their best to blind people as a synthesizer drone builds over the speakers. The noise gets nearly unbearable and then cuts out as all of the lights turn off, and then SALEM’s pounding bass-heavy electro-goth opus “King Knight” hits the speakers. The fans erupt in boos as lasers dance and lights on the stage illuminate the cloud of smoke over the entrance set. After a moment NIN Horror rises up through the smoke on the stage, popping the fans to boo even harder. He stares straight at HMS in the ring through a really cool pair of black sunglasses, with a cold stone like focus as he starts making his way down the ramp.
Knights: And his opponent, weighing in at 246 lbs and hailing from Monaco by way of Texas by way Transylvania… he is a member of the Hall of Fame, he is a world traveled veteran of 18 years… ladies and gentlemen, he is The New Horror Show NIIIIIIIIN Horrr-RRROR!!! Hooded in a sparkling black satin cloak with broken shards of mirrored glass arranged over the chest, shoulders, and back, NIN makes his way around ringside completely ignoring the hateful fans. He never takes his eyes off of his opponent as he circles the ring, climbing up the steps opposite Snail’s corner and walking shortly across the ring apron. Still without taking his shaded glare off Snail Horror points down at a stage hand, nonchalantly motioning him to get on the ring apron.
The stagehand obliges and holds the ropes open for NIN, but already knowing what's coming next the fans erupt in boos as Horror boots the stagehand in the face. The young man falls to the floor and Snail shakes his head in disgust as NIN climbs into the ring, backing up into his corner. The music fades and the lights return to normal as NIN takes off his glasses and ornate robe, folding and handing it to Erik Knights before the trusted ring announcer takes a seat at ringside. And with both men ready the referee calls for the bell to begin…
( ( (DING DING) ) )The fans are complete buzzing as Snail paces back and forth moving out of his corner, never taking his eyes off of NIN as the veteran does the same, although while Snail is ready-to-go NIN just hangs back calmly in his corner. After a moment of giving his fired up opponent the cold glare Horror steps out of his corner, circling up with Snail before going into a color-and-elbow. Snail pushes forward and yells with a fighter’s passion, but NIN and his heavier base barely budges an inch.
The vet growls and puts his muscles into pushing Snail backward, using his leverage to slowly force the young lion back into the ropes. The ref slowly counts as Horror wraps Snail’s arms around the top rope, giving a very slow and deliberate clean break. The crowd starts applauding the show of sportsmanship – but then erupt as he puts five fingers and a palm across the Snail’s face with a heavy slap!
King: A bold opening declaration by NIN Horror, teasing a break just to give his rival a slap to the mouth.Brooks: This is NIN’s last chance to remind Snail about the hierarchy of pro wrestling Gary, he should be luck it was just a slap and not a haymaker. The slap fires up the fans with the electric charge of a schoolyard fight as Snail lunges into Horror, quickly locking him up with the collar/elbow and turning him fully around. Snail rushes NIN into the same spot on the ropes and quickly breaks, quickly returning fire with a slap to the veteran. But unfrazzled NIN just grabs onto Snail’s hair with his left hand and slaps him back in the face with a right! The fans quickly swell up as HMS fires back with a forearm, to which Horror responds with a pie-face shove.
Snail comes back with a closed fist but NIN blocks with his left and wraps up a headlock with his right, grabbing Snail’s left wrist to go under his arm into a wristlock. HMS quickly rolls down and back up to his feet, spins back under NIN’s arm and forgoes the wrist lock to deliver a forearm to the jaw instead. The fans cheer Snail’s wrestling – but then quickly hiss as the vet grabs his hair and throws him to the mat with a headlock takedown.
Brooks: And again, the Hall of Famer keeps cool and takes the young punk down, NIN has that confidence that only comes with age and experience and he’s letting it show tonight. King: The last time we saw these men one-on-one Horror tried to blitz Snail out of the gate and roll him over, but Snail survived and NIN ran out of gas. I think he’s taking this match more seriously Gregory.HMS squirms in NIN’s headlock as the New Horror Show does his best to flatten his opponent out, but Snail soon gets his legs up around NIN’s head. He pulls the vet over with a head scissors to break the headlock, and Horror instinctually rolls to his knees and locks down Snail’s legs. Opening the scissors like a bear trap NIN pulls himself free and kneels on the Metal One’s legs, just to grab him by the hair and paintbrush him with a slap to the chops. The fans ‘ooh’ once again as NIN drags Snail back to his feet by his hair, whipping him into the ropes and taking him down with a hard shoulder block.
But Snail doesn’t stay down for even a second as he rises up and runs the ropes, swelling up the crowd as he crashes into NIN with a shoulder tackle. But the strong style heavyweight doesn’t even go down, he just gives the young lion another slap to the face. The fans buzz as Snail quickly slaps him right back before running the ropes, coming back with two feet flying through the air with a dropkick that the vet sidesteps.
NIN gives Snail a short stomp to the head before dragging him up by the hair, whipping him to the ropes and following behind to slam him against the cables with a knee to the gut. Horror quickly whips him across the ring and follows behind again, but this time Snail vaults over the ropes to the apron to avoid the knee, catching NIN with a big forearm. The crowd cheers as Snail gets ready to fly while NIN stumbles back, springboarding to the top rope to sail off with an axe handle – just to get shot down with a stiff kick to the sternum!
King: Snail goes high – and he crashes and burns! The fans jeer as the Guardian of Metal rolls around on the mat, soon getting dragged back to his feet by his hair. With a shove NIN sends Snail back into the ropes and greets him with a boot sole to the puss, knocking him back to rest against the cables. He takes the young wrestler by the wrist and whips him across the ring, charging in to meet him half way with a hip toss. Horror starts picking up steam as he peels Snail off the canvas and whips him into a corner, sandwiching him with a Lariat before beating him back with a forearm.
NIN quickly follows suit with a heavy knife edged chop to the chest, following with a another heavy forearm to the jaw as the fans
woo from the chop. Another woo for another chop before NIN nails another forearm, picking up speed in this combination until the referee exhausts a virtually meaningless five count. With the fans booing NIN hooks his opponent in a front chancery, hoisting him up by the tights to sit him on the top turnbuckle. The fans jeer as the Hall of Famer attempts to climb up for a Superplex, but on a dime burst with cheers as the Snail hammers him back with a forearm.
The vet slaps him hard across the face to boos and climbs up, but Snail forearms him back down to cheers. Horror growls as dribbles Snail’s head with slaps from both hands, climbing up to the middle rope before HMS opens up on him fore flurry of forearms. The fans are going wild for the Metal One as he dazes his opponent, knocking him back to his feet on the canvas before hooking in a chancery. Snail yells and twirls his free finger in the air to signal the Tornado DDT, but as he jumps and spins out of the corner NIN drops him on his feet and tosses him with a Northern Lights Suplex into the corner -!- but Snail lands into a handstand and quickly falls back down with a double knee drop on NIN’s gut!
King: NIN throws him in the corner! OH but Snail with the counter! A brilliant quick thinking there by the Legacy original! Brooks: It was a lucky move, a lucky move Gary! The fans erupt in cheers as the New Horror Show curls up like a dead dog on its back, gasping for air as the Heavy Metal Snail forcefully shakes out the cobwebs. Snail drags NIN up by his hair and pushes him into the same corner, lighting him up with a lightning flurry of slaps and various chops faster than the fans can woo. Horror’s head rolls around on his shoulders before Snail drags him out and whips him corner-to-corner, following in with a high running knee strike. The fans pop as Snail hooks the head calling for a bulldog before running out, just to get tossed onto the base of his spine as NIN slips out. And to make matters worse the Hall of Famer quickly follows up with a soccer kick to the spine, shocking the Snail as the fans erupt into jeers.
Taking a moment to rub his aching and reddened cheeks NIN soon grabs a handful of hair, dragging HMS up onto one of his knees. The New Horror Show tees off on the young lion’s chest and blasts him with a shoot style kick, sending echoes across Legacy Hall as NIN pounds kickpad into pectorals several more times. Snail looking out of it on his knees watches through watering eyes as NIN points the finger in face, imploring him to
“respect this!” before pumping the sole of his boot into Snail’s forehead. The Legacy Legion erupts in boos as HMS falls back to the mat, clutching his forehead as Horror stalks around him.
Snail rolls over to his knees and starts crawling up before NIN takes a fistful of his hair, dragging him up the rest of the way before running to the ropes. The ring vet rebounds off the cables with a high boot scraping Snail’s face, but while spun around HMS stays afoot. Horror slaps him with a hard right hand to the cheek for the audacity as the fans boo, running to the ropes again and returning with a charging forearm. The shot staggers the Heavy Metal Snail but the young lion refuses to go do, planting his feet and pumping his fists to rally the fans. NIN slaps the defiant rookie in the face once again and runs to the ropes, shooting with a Lariat but Snail ducks under and runs to the same ropes. He rebounds and tags his opponent with a high running elbow; NIN stumbles but stays vertical and openly challenges Snail to try it again.
King: This battle of wills continues between the young lion and the veteran, each man testing the other to see what they’re made of.Brooks: What they’re made of? We know what NIN is made of! Hall of Fame, dozens of championships, one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step foot in a ring! … The fans cheer HMS on as he runs the ropes and rebounds with a Lariat, barely getting his heavyweight foe to budge. NIN reels and delivers another stiff slap to Snail’s reddened cheek to challenge him, and Snail quickly fires one back to pop the crowd before running back to the ropes. He rebounds and leaps off his feet for a high flying elbow but NIN ducks and steps under, hooking his arm around Snail’s chest to throw him head over heels with a wide swinging Uranage Suplex! The fans erupt as Snail crashes off the mat and rolls into the ropes, leaning over the middle one as NIN gets to his feet and charges in, knocking HMS down to the floor with a running boot.
With the fans jeering Horror quickly exits the ring and drags Snail up, whipping him hard into the steel barricades with a new aggression. The fans standing right behind HMS all curse and give NIN the Stone Cold Salute as he peppers Snail with a hard slap, dragging him away to send him running into another section of the railing. But this time the vet comes charging in after him, tipping the young lion over into the front row with a Lariat! The fans quickly clear to give him room (or as much room as they can in this full house) as Snail starts crawling up between the rails and the chairs, getting ‘helped’ back to his feet as NIN drags him up by his hair.
Running from ringside NIN tows Snail by his hair in front of front row, with each man woman and child patting him on the back for support as NIN chides him for it. Horror takes him to the center of the aisle way and hooks the chancery, looking to Suplex him over the rail to the ringside floor – but Snail puts on the breaks. He struggles to block the move but NIN just outmuscles him, lifting him up until a few fans drag him back down by his tights! Snail potshots Horror in the gut and spins out, dropping him chest first on the steel rail with a stunner!
King: And Snail with a hot shot on the steel rail! Oh you know NIN’s feeling that one!Brooks: Ooh - I’m feeling that one Gary! The fans erupt in cheers as the New Horror Show drops to the mats, clutching his chest with a severe grimace as Snail slowly drags himself up using the railing. He climbs over it to the ringside as NIN starts crawling up, giving him a boot to the ribs to the fans’ delight. Dragging the vet up by his hair HMS pounds his face on the ring apron, rolling him back into the ring before climbing up on the apron himself. With Horror good and parallel to the ropes Snail vaults himself over them, swinging down to press NIN with a double knee drop to the gut. The Hall of Famer groans and curls into a ball as Snail gets back on his feet, not giving his opponent a moment to rest before dragging him back to his feet.
Snail easily whips a stunned NIN into the ropes and charges later to meet him off the rebound with a Neckbreaker drop, slamming the vet hard on the mat. Feeding off the fans’ energy HMS rolls back to his feet and hits the ropes, jumping up to drill NIN with a double boot stomp – senton splash combination. Rolling as the fans cheer Snail drags NIN back to his feet and easily whips him into a corner, following him in with a high running knee to the side of the head. The Guardian of Metal raises his hand in the air to rally the fans before reeling it back, blasting NIN’s chest with a hard knife edge chop. A big
WOOO echoes throughout Legacy Hall before Snail reels back again, blasting Horror with another stiff chop. The fans continue to WOO as Snail continues chopping NIN, picking up his pace until he’s chopping the vet with the rapid fire of a machine gun!
King: Heavy Metal Snail, finally giving NIN some payback for those tortuous knife edge chops he loves to torment the roster with.Brooks: Oh no oh no Gary! Snail might be a young lion but now he is treading on the tiger’s tail! He’s, in, trouble!Snail fires off dozens of chops as Horror grimaces in the corner, gritting his teeth as he tries to survive the combination. His anger only grows as Snail slows down running out of steam, nearly stopping before he gets his second wind. With a samurai shout Snail opens back up on NIN – but he quickly grabs HMS by the hair and forces him to trade places into the corner.
The fans erupt in boos as NIN ‘shows him how it’s done,’ practically peeling the top layer of skin off of his chest with rapid fire chops of his own. Making a face like he’s being electrocuted sweat flies off the Heavy Metal Snail’s body as NIN hammers him by the dozens, barely slowing down before yelling out with his second burst. Slowing down again after delivering nearly one hundred chops NIN puts his muscles into making the last few deep, hammering Snail with a few heavy chops to soften him up.
Horror cocks his fist and trash talks Snail right in his face before spinning around, nearly taking his head off with a back fist as the fans erupt in boos. Snail collapses and falls against the ring ropes before NIN grabs his tights, dragging his limp body back up and into the center of the ring. He hooks in waistlock as Snail leans over out of it, forcing the vet to deadlift him over with a German Suplex onto the back of his head! Horror bridges up for the pin but Snail kicks out even before one! The fans erupt as Snail jolts back to life like a science experiment, refusing to stay dead on the canvas as NIN curses out loud.
King: Snail with the fighting spirit of a champion! Refusing to go down, refusing to let NIN beat him here tonight!Brooks: It doesn’t matter how much “spirit” he has Gary, My. Horror is the master of the mat and will – mark my words – break the Heavy Metal Snail here tonight! The New Horror Show rocks back to his feet and drags Snail up with him, pounding him with knees to the body before sticking him in a standing head scissors. NIN hooks the waist and hoists him up for a Powerbomb, but then charges forward and launches Snail back first with a bomb into the turnbuckles! The fans erupt as Horror quickly presses Snail into the pads, bumrushing him with slaps and forearms as the crowd fires up. The fans are screaming for the HMS as he starts covering his head, leading NIN to grabs him by the hair to pound his face into the top turnbuckle. Horror repeatedly rams Snail’s forehead into the top pad as the fans rally behind the young lion, and to his surprise NIN losses his grip on Snail as the rookie
pounds his own head into the corner! The fans erupt in cheers as the Guardian of Metal headbangs himself onto the top pad with reckless abandon, quickly turning around to shock NIN Horror with a stiff forearm! The fans are on their feet as Snail knocks NIN back with another elbow, chasing him back into the center of the ring with a haymaker. The vet tries to swing a wild palm strike but Snail ducks it and pops back up, popping NIN on the chops with a picture perfect standing dropkick.
NIN flops to the mat as Snail powers back up, charging and diving through the ropes to get on the apron. He pops the fans by pointing at the top turnbuckle, calling for the Stage Dive before rushing over and up the ropes. Snail steadies his footing on the top rope and measures the distance down to his opponent, jumping off the rope with a flip just to land back first on NIN’s pulled up knees!
King: The Stage Dive – but Snail lands hard on the knees! Brooks: A! Rookie! Mistake! He didn’t really think he had NIN Horror down for a dive did he? You always make sure they’re gonna stay down before you go up top.The fans deflate with groans as Snail rolls around in pain, holding his back as NIN rolls over onto his knees. He bus the kinks out of jaw before pushing back up to his feet, stalking over to Snail with a boot stomp to the chest. With a stomp to the right arm Horror verbally questions the young lion’s fighting spirit, with a toe kick to the right thigh NIN questions his dedication, with a stomp on the right ankle NIN questions his ability, with a kick to the left knee NIN questions his wisdom, and with a stomp to the left shoulder NIN questions his worth as a wrestler. The fans are booing at the top of their lungs as the Hall of Famer bends down to shout in Snail’s face, slapping him hard across the cheek to test his mettle.
And this one sets him off. Snail fires back with a slap from the ground and struggles like a wounded animal, catching NIN with a boot to the ribs as the fans quickly rally behind him. Horror grits his teeth and drags Snail to his feet for an Exploder Suplex, but Snail puts on the breaks and hammers NIN with his elbow. He breaks the vet loose and nails him with a forearm, dazing him with a quick burst of two more. Snail bounces back into the ropes to pick up steam but NIN cuts his return short with a forearm of his own, beating his elbow into the side of Snail’s head repeatedly.
King: NIN punishing his young rival with those ferocious forearms – and Snail, refusing to be beaten down! But the young lion isn’t giving in, with a roar he brushes NIN’s arm away and hammers the vet with a flurry of his own forearms, staggering Horror before he responds with a thunderous right hand slap. The fans nearly
woo from the sound of the impact alone as Snail pulls his head out of the clouds, shaking out the cobwebs before rocking NIN with a punch. The Hall of Famer shakes it off and nails Snail square with a straight right fist to the jaw! The fans erupt as Snail falls back and catches himself on the ropes; NIN turns around and runs for the opposite side but unbeknownst to him Snail charges right after.
Horror hits the ropes and rebounds to find no one as Snail hits off less than a second later, skidding to a stop and turning – and ducking as Snail throws a Lariat at him. NIN runs for the same ropes and comes back swinging with a Lariat but Snail ducks it, running to the same ropes and rebounding – straight into NIN’s left arm as he turns and scores with the Western Lariat on the chin! The fans erupt as Horror nearly decapitates his opponent with the Stan Hanson special, laying him out and calling for the end to rile up the crowd.
King: Ohmygod NIN takes his head off! It’ll be a miracle if Snail doesn’t have a broken jaw from that one! Brooks: When you play with fire Gary you get burnt, when you kick the hornets nest you get stung! Snail sowed the wind with his impudence and now he is reaping the whirlwind!NIN bends down and drags Snail up by his hair and tights, lifting him up onto his shoulders with the Argentine backbreaker, swelling up the fans as he sets up for the Creature of the Night – but Snail rolls back down to his feet. With a bloody lip he valiantly hoists NIN onto his shoulders despite great difficulty as the fans swell, dropping him and swinging the knee for the Head Banger – but NIN catches the leg under his arm! Horror spins Snail around like a top and grabs his right wrist, drawing his arm over his throat before cradling his leg. The New Horror Show shouts out as he lifts HMS into the air for the H Bomb -!- but Snail gets loose from the cutthroat and backflips out to his feet! He quickly ties up NIN’s arms and boots him in the gut, lifting him up and dropping him on his face with the Mosh Pit!
The fans erupt in cheers as NIN eats canvas, getting rolled over and covered as the referee slides in to count. The fans count along for the
One! Two! Thr-NO! NIN pops a shoulder up at the last second to save himself. But Snail doesn’t fuss or complain; he just sticks his right arm up and crosses his left arm behind it at the elbow, signaling for the Inverted Cross. The fans wildly rally behind Snail for his finisher as he gets back to his feet dragging NIN up, hooking his arms – but the vet sandbags him. Snail struggles to turn him over and can’t… quite… get him up, and NIN manages to turn them back around, breaks his arms free, and pushes Snail across the ring. the HMS runs into the ropes as NIN powers off his feet like a sprinter, crashing into Snail off the rebound with the King Kong Lariat!
King: And he hits him like Mack Truck with the King Kong Lariat! Head-on-head collision and the Snail is mangled! Could this be it folks!Brooks: I’ll admit it! Snail put up a fine showing! The fans erupt as Horror slams into Snail like a truck, nearly turning the young wrestler inside out as he drags him down on his shoulders. NIN turns his opponent over onto his back and presses down on his chest, sticking an elbow across his jaw like the rough old costumers do as the ref comes in to count…
ONE! TWO!! THR/NOO!!! The Legacy Legion erupts in cheers as Snail shoves NIN’s elbow off his face, kicking out at the last second as the vet looks at the ref in shock. But instead of protesting NIN quickly rolls away and goes out of the ring, dropping down to search for something under the ring.
The fans already start booing as NIN reemerges with a devilish, exhausted grin. The camera mic ominously picks up the clinks as the fans in the immediate first row erupt, booing as Horror slowly drags a thick length of
steel chain out from under the ring! He quickly slides back in the ring with about six feet of chain trailing behind, reeling it in as he gets back on his feet. NIN folds the chain in half and starts swinging it by his side as he stalks his rising foe, yelling that if Snail wants his respect he’ll have to earn it. with a swing of the chain the fans erupt in boos as NIN whips the steel across Snail’s back, dropping him down to the mat with a loud yelp!
The New Horror Show shouts down at Snail telling him that he will soon respect his elder when this is finished, putting the exclamation mark on it as he whips Snail with the steel chain once more! HMS yells out in pain as the fans are apoplectic, screaming at NIN from all corners of Legacy Hall. With welts on his chest, blood pouring out of his lip, and new bruises forming on his back the Heavy Metal Snail presses on, crawling up on all fours defiantly! In a scene all too familiar to the older audience NIN stalks behind Snail, beginning to wrap the steel chain around his right arm!
King: The steel chain’s goin’ around the arm! NIN’s hunting for the Lariat with the chain, he’s put down legends with this, he’s won titles with this!Brooks: And now he’s finally going to put the Snail in his place and win his long overdue respect!NIN clutches the chain tight as Snail makes it to one knee, crouching down by the young lion as he nearly begs Snail to stand up. The fans are going wild as Snail finally makes it back to his feet, and as soon as he does NIN takes off. He runs and hits the ropes, swinging his chain wrapped arm at Snail’s head! – But Snail ducks it! He grabs NIN’s arms and hooks them back, hoisting him off his feet and dropping him on his neck with the Inverted Cross!!! Legacy Hall erupts as Snail drills NIN with the world famous Kudome Valentine, trapping him place on his shoulders as the ref counts
ONE! TWO!! THREE!!!( ( (DING DING DING DING DING) ) )“The Trooper” hits the sound system once again tonight as the fans are on their feet, cheering and applauding the Guardian of Metal as he finally puts NIN down for the count!
Erick Knights: Ladies and gentlemen here is your winner of the contest by way of pinfall… the HEAVY METAL SssnnaaaaAAAIIILLL!!!The fans pop again for the official announcement as Snail staggers back to his feet, his arm raised in the air by the referee before the match officiator goes to check on the well being of NIN Horror. Snail staggers over to a corner in obvious pain, climbing up to the middle rope to soak in the celebration as NIN stares up at the lights from the mat. Long time coworker, announcer, manager, and lackey Jack Kent rushes down and slides in the ring to check on his boss of nearly ten years, making sure that the legend is alright as Snail climbs back down to the ring.
He falls back and uses the corner to keep himself standing up as the ref and Jack Kent help NIN sit up, being careful to slowly help him get back on his feet as “The Trooper” fades out. There’s a strange static in the air as the fans tire of cheering, waiting anxiously as Horror and Snail stare each other down from opposite sides of the ring. Erik Knights passes a microphone to the ref, who then passes it to the New Horror Show. The fans go gravely silent as NIN brings the mic up to his lips to speak, not taking his steely daze off of Snail as he breathes heavily into the mic.
Horror: You… I don’t like you… I doubt I’ll ever like you… and right now I down right hate you… … But I gave my word when I accepted this match, just as you did, and I am a man of my word… With Jack Kent helping him stand NIN wipes the sweat off of his mouth, taking a moment to dig out the words as a few fans shout for him to do the right thing.
Horror: On any given day I could beat you… but this wasn’t that day. I hit you with my lariats but you kicked out… I tried to drill you into that canvas but you wouldn’t let me… I tried to break your body, break your spirit, but you just came back stronger and showed me how hard your spirit truly is… I could not defeat you in the ring tonight… but kid, I don’t see myself as a loser.Snail squints his eyes, ready for the classic Horror turnaround as some of the fans buzz with the same anticipation.
Horror: When we first locked horns I thought you were just some punk kid, the hot flavor of the month I could just roll over… but I was wrong then… At the Supershow Four I thought I could pull a fast one on ya and smash you off of the bell… but again, I was wrong…Snail’s expression softens up as NIN seems to be genuinely opening up, dropping his usual haughty pretenses as each admission draws applause from the fans.
Horror: Tonight, I didn’t treat you like a chump, I didn’t treat you like a simple target I need to knock over… I treated you like a competitor. I gave you the respect to wrestle you like a serious opponent, just as I would against a Red Ninja, an Lbm, or a Dark Angle… and you know what happened? … You beat me fair and square. The fans applaud, cheer even for the rare realization of reality by a wrestling bad guy.
Horror: It is because of this, it is because you never backed down, not for a second from the first moment I slapped you in the face all those months ago. It’s because I’ve put too much of my life, too much of my blood and tears into this business to let just anyone take this sport into the next generation… Heavy Metal Snail… tonight I got my confirmation, tonight, I can say that I trust you, as a competitor, to lead this sport into the next generation… and for that reason… you have earned my respect! The Hall of Famer drops the microphone on the mat as the fans erupt with cheers, Snail even wiping the blood off his lip as his eyes water up. The New Horror Show clinches his jaw and pushes out his bottom lip, trying to keep his boss status as he extends his right hand! Snail looks on from the other end of the ring and quickly looks down at his feet, taking a moment to wipe his cheek before he shoots his chin up high, stomping across the ring to shake NIN Horror’s hand!
The fans erupt with applause and break into a
“Legacy” chant as Snail and NIN share an incredibly tense handshake/stare down. As soon as it’s broken Jack Kent helps NIN exit the ring, leading him up the ramp as “The Trooper” once again hits the sound system. Snail watches on with steel fortitude in the ring as NIN goes up the ramp, never looking back as he soon disappears through the curtain. With the Heavy Metal Snail left triumphant in the ring the Fifth Legacy Supershow slowly fades out to an advert for Legacy’s online store, sending the show out to get ready for its next segment…
