RE:VIEW w/ LBM Welcome to a one off coloumn review by yours truly. Wanna say I have enjoyed the return of FHT. Okay I have been criticial at times for those keeping up to date with my feedback, but that has only been me offering my opinions. Its definitely alot easier reading/keeping up to date when your not actually a character with deadlines/matches/promos to write. But yeah credit to everyone connected with the new FHT (espically Robert who has spear headed this). RANT ON FEEDBACK Biggest motivation in the world - is feedback. Please guys... Read others work - comment on it - if you liked it - even more if you hated it! Feedback is very much important. Nothing motivated me more was doing a good piece / and seeing three or four comments about it. Hell even when someone referenced my piece in their promo later on the show / or made a less than 140 character post on twitter. I think taking the weekly Legacy feedback threads into one was a step backwards and allows guys to be lazy with feedback. Reinstate those weekly feedback and perhaps add a few polls / PROMO OF THE WEEK honors or something. Rant over! I hate when the feedback thread is used for - "I just posted" or "Will post tomorrow night". RANT ON FEEDBACK OVER!!! 1) Opening on a match on an FHT ppv?!?! Big thumbs up from me! Dig the sort of boxing/ufc element of it. Interivew outside the ring post match/Casey in the corner thing etc. Ktik2 was a choice that really would do nothing for anyone other than maybe me, Chase, Joe and maybe Keith though... maybe should have A-Damn coming out of retirement (ala Jerry Lawler). Would have made sense then to injure him and maybe remove him. Been many years since A-Damn was around and I feel the three commentary team is cluttered and A-Damn is definitely ill placed!!! Idea for next heel beat down guys!!! TANGENT - Ktik2 was a major fuck up on my part back at the conclusion of the Hardcore 4 Horsemen Network Special (see RDJ on FHT). Thing is I announced the 4th man gimmick (Who would he be?) before I had a fourth man and after weeks of trying to coax someone better - I landed on Ktik2 - though thing is - he pulled out on the eve of the event and thus I went and registered the name Ktik2 myself and ripped off some of his work over on LOP and did a Ktik2 impression and I think we then dropped him within a week of the show! I dont know if I ever told that one before. But I was Ktik2 when he became The 4th Man!!! 2) Eyes are on the big man in Gordon's corner though. George Casey - am I the only one who sees just how much potential this character has always had. This guy ended the longest ever FHT Hardcore Championship reign (and no Nick none of your reigns during inactivity count) within 4 minutes. Go back to Batista/Triple H!!! There is Crusher Casey/Robert Gordon there for the future. George is about every week - he has a character who is so simple to write! Could be great if old man Casey ever gets the time!!! 3) Looking at a long list of promos on a ppv that really has been promoed for enough. As such I aint looking forward to this when all I wanna see is the matches/storyline progressions. So not looking forward to this next chunk of Supershow action! Max Venom well - I loved the Mr Perfect in someone's corner Macho Man/Ultimate Warriror hype from Summerslam 92 so I think this was a nice twist engineering this. As I write this I am kind of writing and reading so still don't know who it'll be. But I am calling it now - REVEREND DADDY JOE!!! But again I think most of the talking should be done by this point. 4) Read what you had Ash Strife but it doesnt excite me! Sorry mate! Sensationalism to sell a match that I personally aint really buying into at this stage ( I know I done it before with my own stuff - not over so make it crazy ass ) but well this seems dated/tired. I think I have become jaded on Ash Strife over the years. So many starts and stops to his career. I dont recall a run of Ash's lasting longer than a couple of months tops. I like Ash personally. I was a huge Big Daddy Strife Mark when he was commissioner and arguably Ash Ace & Max were all on the same level at the peak of The Uprising but we're talking 5 years. Not to put Ash off but damn - he's throwing a FHT TV belt into flames - Chase been doing that with belts for years (haha). And Blade right now is heel also so we got two heels coming back at the same time trying to make impact?!? Advice?!? Ash Strife goes back to that Nash personna he had back when he was commish!!! Big Daddy Strife!!! Make him more accessable. Maybe showcase his history here - tell people where's he been. LOP I think - so he's bound to have won championships there?!? I don't know. Plus in this promo he didn't sell for one second the most over aspect of this brief feud - that is Hardcore Steve (love that guy)!!! Sorry Ash!!! 5) Austin and Nick's respective promos. Again I hate to knock people posting but I wanna see action. This is the ppv - you've got my money - I wanna just see this match (or within the realms of this - I wanna see who is gonna win or lose and progress this). Granted the bit of chamber selling is good. Puts over someone else's work. I have mailed all three men my opinion on where you could take this Austin/Nick/Gordon storyline. I leave it at that. I will give a shout out to the fact that its good to have Nick back wrestling again on a more permement basis - also same with Gordon and in fact Williams. The three of them have part timers on/off over the last few years and all three FHT originals are now active every show - thats pretty cool. 6) Snail... Big fan of Snail! I like the guy's attitude - he's humble - he works hard and he keeps his head down and does whats needed. Alexei and him were the two rookie start outs from last year and well Alexei was the guy who got the title reign. But its Snail who is still standing here. Credit to him! Would like to see him breakthrough now. 7) Mistah JJ pure loopy. Credit to Chase always from me. 10 years he's been at this. Banned and bullied by others for years and he's still here and working with anyone and not relying on the same old shit - he's evolving all the time. I love the loopy shit he comes out with. Where does he get that? However if I think the mark in me would love to see The Peep's Champ back in his face glory out there cheesing it up. He's an FHT original!!! 8) Good match between the two FHT legends Nick & Austin! Credit to Nick - he knew that since the chamber was the main event - his match had to go on earliar - didnt show ego. The 10 count somewhat slowed the match to me. I be honest - I find match reading very tough these days and as such maybe I cant offer you a review too indepth. I will say that the right man one! I have enjoyed the new heel Austin but part of me sees John2 logging on and thinks - I miss that guy. 9)Hardcore Steve wins by forfeit. Bit of a bait and switch - I realise Baxter had wounds to sell and as such couldn't be here but I did look forward to seeing what Hardcore Steve could do. Like I said I am a big fan - think that if Steve gets another match with someone - it should be better than this. Feel shortchanged on this one - but again big Steve fan!!! 10) Ash Strife vs Blade - honestly this is the sort of match I would rather read these days. Something short/sweet/tells the story. I will say I think it was a little tv though - not really that big of a deal for the ppv but maybe this was more telling of where these two feel their feud is. Rather than putting everything into it here. Will say that Ash/Blade have some recovery to do to get back some heat following this ppv.

I mentioned earliar that I had done part of this feedback while reading the ppv earliar in the week. Well anyway different circumstances (including lossing alot of what I had written last night) has meant this is being written here on Friday night.
11) Angel vs Williams! Apologises to both men cause I read this about 3/4 days ago and when it was fresh in my head I mailed DA. Angel has his style down. I just read his matches and see a WWE main event style match from the attitude era. Real story telling - with a good few spots. As I've said earliar - I have grown somewhat disinterested in the reading of matches. But I enjoyed the bit were they were on the broadcast table outside. And well I did like the finish. Back and forth and the "back spasm". At first I thought shit Gordon and Keith are cahoots. I really did. I didnt expect for one second for Keith to win. I like to think it's cause I posted ooc feedback the other week saying the result was predictable. I was looking forward to were this was going (and I have already said what I thought of the first segment of revenge).
12) JJ/Ninja starting off. Ninja hasn't really been around yet in the revamped FHT but again he should be a big part of TEAM ORIGINAL FHT. JJ well I have commented already. But I think these two guys were the least associated with the big feud and so probably having them start was a good idea.
Snail in next - is good... His time is now... NIN Horror (who has mighty dropped off the planet in the returned FHT since his big time undefeated FHT champion promo way back) is next. I liked the exit of Ninja. The moment his arm got smashed in the door I knew what was coming. Whoever wrote this segment - I liked this logical booking.
Reverend Daddy Joe vs. NIN Horror would be a really strong feud!!! Maybe they have and I'm forgetting - I do think they've had a match but that right there could be a great match. NIN Horror should drop in on FHT Japan - win their title belt - come back here and defend it against RDJ!!! I just think they get a good reason to fight - a real personal story and it could be great.
Horror gone - a shame - but well he's not been promoted too strongly in recent weeks. We need him to rise from this slump soon. I did like that he laid down to Snail!!! Again whoever chose this booking - it made sense.
Shit and Snail pins JJ!! I liked JJ then going off on one! Again all this is making sense to me! Match style changing has thrown me off (obviously a change of writer) but well its short/concise for a big match. Easy to read thus far.
Snail just knocked RDJ!!! Shit Snail is making a believer out of me!!! This is his night!!! And then Max ends it! I'll be honest - the third of this match I scanned cause I had to put the baby bed there. I will read it - I like Max's fonts and I'll read it I will. But Meiko helpin him - I've no problem with that. It was a heel boast that he had someone on the inside to help him and he didn't deliver. Heel 101. Max wins and his heat is almighty now.
Snail/Max looks sealed for the future at this point!!! Its gonna be a slow burner and it started here. Max/Nick I can see being a worthy main event feud. I also like that Max is his own man even though he's a heel and agrees with Gordon!!!
I enjoyed this ppv - it never really stayed on too long. Good job guys!!!

Great column. Feedback has been a bit lackluster (although honestly improving) and some of that is certainly on me, so I'll latch onto this topic and throw a few thoughts of my own out.
I think the big thing I want to emphasis is the importance of trying to do something every week. We've got a growing roster but it's still small enough that people taking a week off gets noticed. A few of those and it hurts the show and your own chances of getting involved in something big. The more you're seen doing interesting things, the more people want to jump in and work with you. If you're stuck for an idea, ask around either in the feedback thread or PM someone. There is always something you can do here.
Going to just jump from one topic to another with no real rhyme or reason, just as I think of stuff:
- Ash/Blade. Two great characters squaring off. With Ash, I find the "too extreme" ultraviolence heel thing interesting because in a place like this, being super-violent is usually a face act. Certainly right now, while Gordon is in charge, I could see Ash getting at worst, a mixed response and possibly mostly cheers. I see it being a sleeper hit, it'll do pretty well now but when we go back to the old FHT style, it could make for some compelling storylines. For Blade, Hardcore Steve has very quickly cemented himself as a great addition to his character, with this subtler anti-hardcore gimmick in the background. It's multi-layered and connects well to what's going on and I find myself hoping this doesn't end up being a short-term run because there's real potential in how far this could go. I do wonder if Hardcore Steve is so good that ultimately Blade might be forced to turn face sooner rather than later, especially going up against another heel.
My idea for next month with these two involves Reverend Daddy Joe. You've got two heels, anti-hardcore in Blade and OTT-hardcore in Ash. Bring Joe in as the third guy, the face balanced perspective on what hardcore should be about. The promos almost write themselves, its no longer heel vs. heel, it gives Joe a great challenge working with two strong characters and as a triple threat, it'll set itself apart from the rest of the likely matches come Wrestletopia.
- The Chamber match was a nice treat. Hindsight being 20/20, the participants should've been announced earlier to give both the chamber and the people not involved more time to work on their own stuff. That said, it worked out well. The three different writing styles I found actually fit for each section. Gordon handled multiple characters well and built up every entrant, Snail quickly got us through the hectic middle part by focusing on the highlights. Max brought it home with a big match between him and Snail. Venom is really on a roll after struggling a little, I feel, getting around the "I'm a rebel working for the biggest corporate suit in the company" but it has clicked and I love just the subtle touches in the Venom/Gordon relationship: Both men know that the other is the best option they've got for either boss or top champion. Both men would also be willing to throw the other under the bus if something better came along and they know that. So you've got this relationship where they have each other's back, praise each other and even sometimes seem friendly but there's always this bit of doubt, an unspoken acknowledgement that it is a temporary thing. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.
But more than Max, I think this match absolutely made Snail into an unquestionable main eventer. Great booking that saw Snail withstand tremendous beatings and take out three top names in a way that felt realistic and logical. I went in wanting my man, Mistah J.J. to get the win, but thinking it'd probably be Snail or Venom. Seeing them both make it to the end and have that huge trading of moves was fantastic. I'll be shocked if Snail isn't FHT Undisputed Champion by the end of the year, probably sooner than that.
As for the Blackcat Meiko reveal, I'm in two minds about it. On the one hand, it was very clever and made a lot of sense. Max wearing the shirts, the double-bluff, the background details, it was such a logical choice that if this was a real show, it'd be an absolute perfect surprise. That said, from the perspective of this, in fact, not being real and Meiko being part of NIN's side-project, the LLW, I'm unsure. Joe was my pick simply as I felt he was the most likely guy Max would've reached out to, but I do think it was a missed opportunity for someone to have shot up the card. Maybe it's for the best, we don't need another big heel right now and honestly, if anyone has earned the chance to prove something can work, its Max and maybe NIN will be contributing a bit, making a few posts as Meiko to sell things. I guess we'll see.
- As for the rest of the chamber, I've put my idea for Joe out there and I hope he doesn't go, he's a strong writer who could do a lot of good here. J.J. I feel was a bit of a victim of the whole SEI vs. Legacy storyline where he didn't really fit on either team so was stuck in limbo for a bit. Now we're moving back to regular feuds, he should be in a better position. NIN and Ninja I've put together here because I think both need to freshen things up, character-wise. They've both climbed every mountain here and seem to be drifting. What if NIN turned face or formed a big tag team with someone, Two Man Power Trip-esque? What if Ninja turned heel or he and Killer got injured at the hands of someone, leading to a big storyline where Coleson had to work his way up the roster to get revenge? Again, hopefully the return to traditional feuds will help them.
- Gordon is doing a great job in a pretty tough role as owner. Previous owner characters have really suffered over time from having multiple people writing them, I remember Sir Alan near the end was simultaneously a face, heel and tweener who one week could be super-competent and the next an idiot, but so far Gordon's remained fairly stable and I think that's a testament to how strong the character is. Austin has become the nastiest character in a promotion full of them, even if recent events may have dulled his heat a little. Keith has been very fun and very open working with him.
